Hey guys, my semester has finished and I have time to organise a photography competition! There has been a total of 31 points so far donated to the PhotoUnited points page (photounited-points.deviantart.…) which will be used towards the winning prize of this competition. But without further ado, let me explain the terms of the competition!
Criteria
For this competition I am inspired by the current season here (Spring - I'm in Australia), but also bright and colourful imagery in general. So your rules for this competition are:
You must either be a member of PhotoUnited or be a part of one of our affiliated groups! (See home page for list of groups)
Bright colours! Rainbows! Therefore photos will be judged upon use of colour. (The images don't have to have high saturation)
Focus point and clarity. The content needs to be clear and focusses on a specific thing or setting. Abstract photos are very much welcomed, but over-blurry imagery may be looked over.
Light! This area doesn't have to be a major part of the work, but if used creatively to help express the colours then it could give you brownie points!
No snapshots! Although all photos will be "accepted", a snapshot will not win this competition.
Please not erotic or nude art! (other people photography is fine)
Please have more than 2 colours/shades within the photo! Make sure there is much colour as possible!
No more than 2 submissions per person (submit to "Bright and Colourful Comp" folder)
Photos can be new or old creations
Photos must be submitted by the 14th of December!
What the winner receives
First place wins 20 points and a big feature (including their winning work and other photos from their gallery, as selected by the founder). These will feature in a journal, but the winning photo will also be featured in the group's "about" section on the home page.
Second place will receive a small feature in a journal (their competition piece plus 2 other of their photos, as selected by the founder)
Third place will have their competition piece featured in a journal.
Results
The winner and runner ups will be announced around 16-18th of December
Please let me know if you have any issues
Happy snapping and invite others if they're eligible!

Admin Wanted
Hi all,
I am sorry for the absence in this group. I know a few of you were regular submitters and I apologise if your work has been disrupted.
I never intended for this group to be large but I would like it to continue, however I am still not very active on here and would like some help.
You will need to be a committed photographer, or someone with a high view on photography, and with an understanding that not all works will be accepted into the group because they will either be submitted incorrectly or they are not of quality. We strive for good photography in this group and not snapshots.
If you would like to help out please comment belo
Admin Needed
Hi all,
I've been even less active this past month I must apologise!
I am still needing someone else to help take in submissions. You must have a strict eye for photography to allow only good quality photos into the group and understand the different between Photography and Phonoegraphy (iphonography, smartphone-photos)
Please leave a comment below if you're interested thanks.

Apologies - Join the Team - Contest
Hi all! I apologise for my inactivity, deviantart has been a low priority for me. I'm currently teaching and curating an exhibition which has been taking up my time and I just simply haven't had many opportunities to log in here.
I'm currently the only one approving deviations, if you would like to help assist approve submission leave a comment below but know that I will be very strict in choosing someone. I will quiz you on the rules and specifications on the group. I need someone who can see eye to eye on the quality of photos allowed in this group.
To catch up on an old idea, I am still interested in holding a Still Life competition, the
Still Life Feature
In theme for the upcoming competition here are a selection of photos already in PhotoUnited

Hi! I've submited 3 of my photos, they've all been accepted. And then I noticed that for this comp only 2 per person are allowed. So, I remove one of them? Or it is okay to have 3 of my photos? Sorry for inconvenience.
